Well, after McCain lost because he wouldn’t follow my advice about how to run his campaign, things got pretty bogged down. All those dopey ethics complaints, and I had to whip that board into line so they’d find me innocent of everything, and then people nosing around about how we built our house, and – you know I was pretty busy right then, trying to work out my book deal, so I didn’t really have time for all that. Or for Shelly Johnston’s wanting to talk it over all the time with me – or she was going to talk it over with the tabloids or those tv people! What a cool coincidence that she got arrested for drug dealing.
I didn’t expect that fancy lawyer to start representing her and Levi. That lawyer has it in for me. He’s always hated me. And now he’s helping Levi sabotage everything I’ve worked for!
And then the book deal came through. I won’t really have to tell them anything, or I can throw in a few details as the repentant sinner –– whatever. I’ll deal with that later. First I’ll get my giant check for Part I of the advance.
But just when you think you can relax a little, Podd’s sister gets arrested for burglary, and she had her kid with her, so there’s child endangerment there, too. See how the family is always messing everything up for me?
